Advisors' Opinion: - [By Sean Williams]
Leading the S&P 500 higher was fashion accessories maker Fossil (NASDAQ: FOSL ) , which blew past the Street's estimates in the first-quarter and gained 9% on the day. For the quarter, revenue rose 15% to $680.9 million as adjusted EPS gained 16% to $1.08. Results were driven by double-digit watch growth, a 22% rise in direct-to-consumer sales, and a nice reversal in Europe, where its wholesale business grew 14%. Furthermore, Fossil raised its full-year EPS forecast for the year to a range of $6-$6.26 from its previous outlook of $5.85-$6.15. While I've long been a fan of Fossil, this report could also foretell that a big beat is coming for Michael Kors (NYSE: KORS ) , with which Fossil has a watch manufacturing agreement.

Getty Images About 20 years ago, a company now owned by Monsanto (MON) introduced the Flavr Savr tomato -- the first genetically modified organism approved for consumption in the United States. Since then, farmers across the country have been using more and more GMOs every year. It's a practice that has come under increasingly intense scrutiny. Activists who are worried about the potential for human health problems, as well as environmental damage, have started demanding that food containing GMOs be labeled as such. Prop 37, a California ballot measure to mandate GMO labeling, failed at the polls in 2012, and a similar measure lost last month in Washington state. In both campaigns, the largest makers of GMOs -- Monsanto, DuPont (DD), and Dow Chemical (DOW) -- provided the ad funding that helped turn the tide. But what many people don't realize is that they've been consuming products with GMO ingredients for years. The Institute for Responsible Technology has a brochure breaking down GMO presence in many different types of foods. Here are 10 of the most popular foods that likely contain GMOs. Pre-made soups can contain a large number of ingredients containing GMOs. For instance, Campbell's (CPB) popular condensed Tomato Soup lists high fructose corn syrup as its second biggest ingredient. According to the Non-GMO Project, nearly 88 percent of all corn planted in the United States is GMO.

SodaStream bears pointed to Primo Water's (NASDAQ: PRMW ) FlavorStation as a potential SodaStream slayer two years ago. The bottled water distributor had plenty of retail connections for its flagship H2O but it only managed to get one major retailer -- a home-improvement superstore chain, at that -- to sell FlavorStation carbonators and flavors.

Primo Water (PRMW) is a provider of multi-gallon purified bottled water, self-serve filtered drinking water, water dispensers and carbonating beverage appliances sold through major retailers in the U.S. and Canada. This stock closed up 9.6% to $2.16 in Thursday's trading session.

52-Week Range: $0.69-$2.20
Thursday's Volume: 329,000
Three-Month Average Volume: 145,397
From a technical perspective, PRMW ripped higher here right above some near-term support at $1.85 with heavy upside volume. This stock broke out above some near-term overhead resistance at $2.14 and into new 52-week-high territory, which is bullish technical price action.
Traders should now look for long-biased trades in PRMW as long as it's trending Thursday's low of $1.97 and then once it sustains a move or close above its new 52-week high at $2.20 and above some past resistance at $2.28 with volume that hits near or above 145,397 shares. If we get that move soon, then PRMW will set up to enter new 52-week-high territory, which is bullish price action. A typical example here is that of Wolverine World Wide (WWW), provider of casual and designer footwear. This company is doing well and its second quarter results were not an exception. It reported better than expected numbers, beating the Street estimates. Let us take a look.

Wolverine World Wide(WWW) simply isn’t the same company it was a year ago — and its record third-quarter results are proof. WWWcompleted a $2 billion acquisition of Collective Brands last year, adding the Sperry Top-Sider, Saucony, Stride Rite and Keds brands to its portfolio.

Wolverine World Wide (WWW): A Faster Growing Global Marketer of Footwear
Our third example, Wolverine World Wide, moves farther up the growth chain with earnings averaging 9.4% per annum. Nevertheless, we once again see the strong relationship and close correlation between stock price and earnings over the long run. Perhaps due to the faster earnings growth rate, we do see several periods where the company price earnings ratio has deviated significantly above the 15 standard, indicating overvaluation. Nevertheless, just as we saw with our first two examples, stock price inevitably and soon moves back into alignment with earnings.
